l dont know whether l am a pear shape or an hourlass shape. l am kinda in between both. l am 5' 3 weigh about 9st. My top half is smaller being a 34 a/b. My tummy is kind pot bellied, but l could lose that. my thighs and bum are always bigger! But my waist goes in abit like an hourglass, so l dont know what l am! l find Jeans/trousers hard to fit me, they leave a gap at the back! If l am a pear shape, what clothes would best suit me? And what exercises to help tone up my bum and thighs to be more in proportion wioth my top half!

hour glass is when your shoulders and hips are in line with each other and your waist is narrower. if you're pear shape i'd imagine like flared jeans and stuff.i really do not know, i'm rubbish at this stuff!

your lucky, a small waist is good, get clothes to show that off, but cover your thighs, if they are big..a loose top, tied in the middle, to show your hourglass shape off, but long, to cover your bulkier areas.

you are what you are and you should be happy with your self - if you feel that you should tone certain areas then go to the gym and get a programme down as they can show you what exercises will help in certain areas of your body.
You shouldnt stick with one type of clothing go into a clothe shop and try on lots of different clothes on - take a truthful friend who will tell what clothes look better on you.

Wear black shirts which are a little lose. Do knee bending exercise. Start with as few as you easily can. The after one week do about 10 every one hour when no one is looking and do not do more than 8 or 9 sets. Do it only for 4 days in a row every week. Then after 3 weeks do 12 sets. You will see the difference yourself. Its tested and tried but you have to be regular.

As a pear-shaped gal with somewhat curvy bum & thighs , I've experimented with clothes over the years.
l am fond of skirts. A-line cut ones, preferably one is which fall just below the knee. Cotton suits me best - it skims rather than clings to my curves.
Tops - fitted one is which skim rather than cling r better. l do not want the whole world to stare at my pot-belly! Something with a v-neck or scoop neck in a brighter colour or embelishment than my skirts. A good underwire bra with a bit of a pushup affect, shows ur cups to their best advantage. The theory is that the top half is the focal point.
Make the most of ur waist. Wearing a fitted jacket or wrap around cardigan can emphasise what waist u do have.
Trousers r a tricky one. Finding well-fitting trousers is a process of trial & error. The high waisted look does not suit some of us gals with bellies & curves. Hipster cuts has a tendency to cause a ''muffin top'' effect , not exactly the classiest look! So go for something in between. A slightly wider leg is a good way to balance out the thighs, in a darker colour. And l can not pull off wearing cropped trousers/capris, it makes my thighs look bigger than they actually are.
Curves can look sexy, it is all in the attitude & a flattering outfit. Go window shopping & try to see what works for you.
l will let someone else answer the exercise question.
Edit - have to agree that ''Trinny & susannah'' know what they r talking about!
