I'm short, depressed, and I need to lose weight!

l am 18 years old. l just moved to the states for the first time, and I've been separated from my boyfriend, whom l have not seen in a few months, and we're starting to get a little agitated with the situation and with each other. I am having a real hard time adjusting, getting out and getting motivated, some would say l feel a little depressed. To get to the point, l wanna better myself. l wanna feel better about myself and l wanna make the reunion with my boyfriend that much better on Thanksgiving.

l am 5'2'' and l weigh roughly 135-140, but l refuse to get on a scale because l do not like reading it. l do not know the area, or anyone, so l do not know where to go for exercise, and l do not get out. l sit in my house with nothing to do. Lately I've been getting out and walking the neighborhood and I've been watching what l eat, but it is not making me feel better, and obviously I am not seeing any changes. It does not help I am kind of a pessimistic anyways.

What can l do that will honestly work? Websites and diets and all that crap wo not work, l do not wanna pay $50 to spend a week reading a book that tells me that l just need to spend lots of money to eat something healthy that might work.

Dont eat a lot of cheese and fat in your diet and start jogging in morning or evenings for atleast 20 minutes.
Thats the best and cheapest way to shed extra pounds

Well, exercising is a sure way to get out of depression, it is a fact. Ask any fit person that works out on a regular basis and they will tell you that working out is the best way to relieve stress and become more confident in oneself, and when your confidant and happy, your less likely to become depressed. Workout one hour a day, five times a week. Do both cardio and resistant training.

Play a sport that will give you motivation to stay fit and you will be able to interact with other peers to help you on your journey to recovery and stop being so frivolous.

l lived in Canada & the winters were brutal. It was hard to get out & exercise. What l did was put on music & dance. Sounds corny, but it was fun, & it worked. Also music & exercise naturally changes ur brain chemistry & makes u feel good. l ended up losing 14 pounds in 9 weeks. Once that weight was off, l felt so good that l started trying other forms of exercise, like hiking, swimming & biking. Get out there & try something new, u will meet people, become more social, & ur selfr esteem with go through the roof! Good luck!

P.S It takes time, dont get frustrated!

l have heard it said that weight loss & improved fitness result from about 2/3 diet & 1/3 exercise. The exercise does not have to be strenuous, sweaty, or tiring. It just has to get u moving & using up a few extra calories. Mild stretching exercises r relaxing & a good way to start & end an exercise session, if u want to do calisthenics or aerobics.

Do u like to dance? You can get in some sneaky exercise by putting on some upbeat music & just dancing to it a little as u go through ur daily activities.

There r other ways to measure ur progress than by weighing yourself. Watch how ur clothes fit better, how ur posture perks up, & how ur hair & skin look healthier.

Eat about 10% less than u would like to. Any more stringent dieting will make ur body go into its '' l am deprived'' mode, where it slows down its metabolism to compensate. You will probably have to change what foods u mostly live on -- u know what to do. But save room for one -- ONE -- 100-calorie treat each day, for ur morale is sake. Who knows, maybe in time ur idea of a treat will become a banana, or a cracker with a half-slice of Swiss cheese on it.

Remember, you're doing this mostly so u will feel better, not so much to impress anybody else. l think u can succeed!

exercise relieve stress among other myriads of benefits. whenever l gain weight, l just go biking around for at least 15 mins thrice per week and l enjoy it a lot. control your carbohydrates like bread, pastas, rice even sugar and go for more veggies instead. its only DIET and EXERCISE you have to consider when losing weight, nothing else risky and costly.

hi! i'm not kidding, l am 5 foot 2 & WAS about 140 pounds at the beginning of this year. l knew l had to lose some weight so l would feel comfortable in my swim suit this summer. l created my own ''eating plan'' (i do not like the word diet) & it seriously worked for me. l lost over 20 lbs in 3 months. l felt better when l woke up in the morning, l felt better about myself, & l found l am way more social when l like how l look. here is the article l wrote about the eating plan l followed:
