too little calories....

i'm trying to lose weight. l had approximately 400 calories today so far. and dinner will probably be 400 at most. so it is 800 for today. is that enough? l heard that if you eat too little calories, you can not lose weight..? fyi, im 5'5''.
it is weird cause im not even hungry idk lol.

l think 1700-2400 is the range your looking for.

To lose weight l think for your height, ideally would be 1000 to 1200

You do not want to go into starvation mode. If you eat too little, your metabolism will slow down, and that is no good for losing weight.

l think 1200 calories is about as low as you should go.

P.S. l do not know how you are managing! If l try to eat only 1200 calories in a day, l am ready to eat my own arm! Good for you, wow.

Eating only 800 calories a day is not a good thing for ur body, even if u want to lose weight. It is reccomended that u do not eat any less than 1400 calories a day.
Here is an equation u can use to help u decide how many calories u should be eating a day.

If u r trying to lose weight, l have a formula that u can use that l was introduced to at my job at a gym.

STEP 1
You take ur weight in kilograms (weight in pounds divided by 2.2) & ut it into one of the following equations, based on ur age:
females
18-30 years old 14.7 x Weight (kg) + 496
30-60 years old 8.7 x Weight (kg) + 829
Over 60 years old 10.5 x Weight (kg) + 596

males
18-30 years old 15.3 x Weight (kg) + 679
30-60 years old 11.6 x Weight (kg) + 879
Over 60 years old 13.5 x Weight (kg) + 487

STEP 2
Multiply ur answer from step 1 by 1.2

STEP 3
If u exercise, determine how many calories u burn on an average daily basis from ur activity (not including walking to work, etc, only things like doing 60 leg lifts or running for 30 minutes)
(You burn about 80-100 calories for each mile u walk or run
& also 300-400 calories for each hour of continuous moderate aerobic activity)

STEP 4
To lose weight, subtract 250-500 calories from ur answer in STEP 3
It is reccomended that u DO NOT go below 1400 calories a day.

Your final answer from STEP 4 represents the number of calories u need to consume to reach ur weight loss goal.

Your answer from STEP 3 is how many calories ur body burns every day on average.
Example, when u subtract 250 calories from the number in STEP 3 u will have a daily deficit of 250 calories. After 2 weeks, u would have lost about 1 pound, as 1 pound is said to be about 3500 calories. If u have a 500 calorie deficit, u will lose around a pound a week.
Keep in mind that everyone is different & will lose at a different rate, these r just guidelines!
