My friend has been anorexic for awhile, her family finally found out so they are making her eat in front of them, so she has decided she is going to take ex-lax. Although l can already say that it is not safe, will it make her lose Weight?

l dont know but it sounds as tho your friend should be going to the hospital! they can care for her there and you should be helping your friend not asking if it works! tell her parents what she is going to do call a doctor or something!

Very dangerous, anorexia can pass a point of no return, and she can die.

Your friend may lose a few pounds, but this is sure not a safe way to lose weight. If she takes ExLax, she will just have diarrhea. She will become dehydrated; her electrolytes will be out of balance. She is setting herself up for heart failure.

Someone needs to tell her family about the ExLax. It sounds like they r trying to help her. But l think she needs professional help -- like checking into a hospital or a behavior clinic.

That is not important. Encourage her to fight anorexia, and tell her parents whats going on. She is their daughter , and she is going to kill herself soon.
