keeping consistancy in losing weight

l the past few weeks I've been doing well losing weight. I've lost 5 pounds in about the past 3 weeks. I've been walking my dog around the neighborhood once a day, rushing across campus about every 55 minutes until 2:25 and once a week l go with my friend to see her horse. one horse, two girls, very long trails. so l get about an hour to an hour and a half of riding and about the same time walking some pretty tough trails. About the time l started losing weight is about the time l started walking and riding these trails and about the same time l turned vegetarian. i've also been paying even more attention to the content and proportions of my meals. i've been making sure to eat in moderation and always include vegetables and hopefully some fruit. and of course protein be it tofu, peanut butter, beans, or soy/veggie entrees such as soy nuggets, veggie burgers (no buns. l do not like them), or veggie rolls (similar to egg rolls but no meat and very tiny). unfortunately my great grandmother just died and I've been away for a week. I've only been able to eat what is available (usually pasta) and there was really nowhere to walk. not that l really wanted to. the funeral was in new york. very cold. when l got back l found out that l gained a pound back. l would like to know how to gain more consistancy and maybe speed up the process. l do not really wanna lose more than 2 pounds a week. l really wanna keep the weight off. l would also love some snack suggestions. the snacks need to be somewhat filling but small enough to hide from my teachers. they do not quite understand the ''eat more'' diet. or the possibility that i'm hypoglycemic. l get kinda shaky and a headache when l do not eat for about two hours. my mom is got it and the opposite as well.please help me out. l certainly would not mind some new recipes either! : ) thanks!

The best consistency is slow & steady. Drink water, l have cut out all other beverages other than an occasional coffee.

There r times when l do not have but a few minutes to work out, l turn on the radio & dance to a couple songs while cleaning. When l go somewhere l always park far away & sprint to the door, crazy l know but it all adds up!

l stay away from all soy products because it mimmicks the hormone *estrogen* in ur body & can lead to cancer & other female health issues. Pasta is not too bad, just eat in moderation. They have whole wheat pasta!

l am including a website that l use ALOT! There is a recipe tab up top with wonderful raw/veggie recipes. You could possibly make some granola bars with ur favorite fruit & nuts & keep those with u to snack on.

l had lost about 20 pounds & went to visit family & gained back 6..that was devastating. It happens, just keep going strong & stay motivated.

What teacher has a problem with u bringing snacks to class? Even if you're overweight (not being critical, l am working on losing weight too), they will eventually see ur weight loss & be on ur side. Besides, if u r eating/drinking healthy foods, who will criticize? If you're still self-conscious about eating in front of others, eat while running to ur next class. Keep portioned snacks & cut up fruits/veggies in ur bookbag. l like chicken & tilapia too much to be vegetarian, but l hear it works for those who can stick with it. l eat Cream of Wheat (w/ Splenda) at work when l am running late (they have packaged instant). For lunch l usually eat canned soup, or a Lean Gourmet. l always have fruit with me at work to eat throughout the day. It is better to eat small meals all day long than to eat 3 large meals. Who cares what anyone thinks if it works for you? l eat lean meat & steamed veggies for dinner, with a sweet potato as an occasional treat. Just focus on fresh fruits, veggies, whole grains (in moderation), & lean proteins. Keep in mind the 80% diet. At least 80% of the time (or more) u will stick to ur diet, but there will be days when u just can not possibly do it (out of town, etc). Okay, u had a bad week. But u will lose that pound & get back on track. Do not get discouraged.

Well, l do not know what works for you, but I've lost about 10 pounds so far & have kept it off. l eat breakfast within an hour of waking up. If l eat carbs, l only eat whole grains. l eat lots of salads & eat protein about once a day. l do not eat three hours before bed & l also snack randomly. l mainly drink water; very little juice & no soda (or if l do, it is something like sprite.maybe three times a month). Also, never skip meals.

It helps me to have things already made so it is more convenient (try packing small containers or baggies of food before, so u can grab one when u need it). It really helps me avoid eating bad foods. l also got the book ''Eat this, not that'' & it really helps me make good choices. As snacks, l pack dry roasted nuts, carrot sticks, & other small veggies. As long as it has a lot of fiber, it will be filling. As for ur teachers not allowing u to eat. Maybe u can get a note from ur doctor?

As for recipes, well, l eat a lot of food raw, but baking, grilling & steaming r all great as long as u watch how much oil or butter u use.
It is kinda hard at first, but it gets easier as long as u manage hunger & exercise regularly.
Just make sure u do not become malnourished. Good luck!
