l have done EVERY THING. I've joined gyms, I've tried all the fad-diets, I've worked out a lot, I've tried being a vegetarian, I've tried EVERY THING. l just do not have the will power. l do not have the self esteem...l do not have a lot of money. My friends always tell me that l have such a ''pretty face'' and they think I am awesome.They love me. They just know, that l have been single and depressed forever and it is probably all because of my weight. Then, when l start feeling good, and dieting and exercizing, some thing in my life happens, and l quit. l go running back to my comfort food and binging. l can not afford to do anything like gastric bypass.And l really just do not wanna do it. I've seen people that've had it and its screwed some of them up. That would be the 100% last resort for me. Are there any hope for me to lose weight? Should l just give up and jump off a cliff or what? I am just really depressed about because yesterday was my 28th birthday and l went to all these costume parties and l was the fattest, grossest girl at them all. I am disgusting. But l have no family. I've disowned them. My dad is dead and my mother is a pot head and steals money from my 14 year old brother so yeah...That is only a taste of the issues with them. Anyways. Someone help me please! l need to lose weight.

Me too! l have finally found one thing that has helped & it really does not hurt. l stopped eating after 6 pm. That means nothing after 6 just water. Or if it is going to be an early night for me & l am going to bed early l will stop eating at least 4 hours before bed. Also l refuse to eat breakfast until l have been up half an hour. l have discovered that if l stop & think about eating something healthy for breakfast it sticks with me longer. It has been a slow process but l have lost about 2 pounds a week for the last 4 weeks. It is not much but seeing the weight loss on the scale makes me more determined to eat healthy.

Well, l think u just made the perfect case for why diets do not work! You get excited about something new, start it, start feeling deprived, cheat, feel guilty, & round & round we go. Lord knows, I've been there too! Why do not u try something different? l call this my ''non-diet.'' Just make a few simple changes that wo not let u feel deprived & ready to cheat. Over time, these changes will add up to big pounds on the scale. l am talking about things like: 1) Weigh yourself once a week, at approx. the same time, wearing approx. the same thing. 2) Try to make the healthiest choices possible when choosing food. For example, choose brown rice over white rice. Choose whole-grained bread over white bread, etc. 3) Eat half of ur normal portion at each meal. 4) Never skip breakfast as it wakes up ur metabolism & gets it working for the day. 5) Only allow yourself one sweet on Saturday & one on Sunday (unless it is a special occasion like a birthday). Chew sugarless gum when u want because sometimes u just need a flavor in ur mouth. 6) Drink mostly water & plenty of it. Save sweet drinks for special occasions. Limit soda-even diet. Skim milk is excellent! 7) Try to hit all the major food groups when choosing ur food: lean protein, veggies, fruits, whole-grains, low-fat dairy. 8) Be more active. Ride ur bike, take a walk, put on some good tunes & dance, jump rope, etc. Try to do something that leaves u huffing & puffing for 30 minutes each day. Now u might complain that the weight wo not come off fast enough on a ''non-diet'' but you've already explained why ur weight is not coming off as it is. It will come off this way. Yes, it will take a little longer because you're not starving yourself, but as long as it works, is not that all that matters? The time is going to pass regardless, the only question is what will YOU look like after the time has passed. So, l encourage u to try something different & see if u get different results. Okay, if u seriously tried everything, & you've reminded faithful to whatever regiment you've tried, & you're still not losing weight, it is very possible that u have an underlying disorder such as PCOS, or a thyroid condition.
That being said, losing weight is a long process, & l think people get discouraged when they do not see results right away. What has worked for me is cutting down on carbs ( l used to live off of them), eating a lot of whole grains, LOTS of fruits & vegetables, & l drink a lot of water. l do not drink soda, at all. On top of that, l walk at least two miles a day 4-6 times a week. Depending on how l feel, l will walk up to five miles. Some days, l do light weight training, & break out my Wii Fit (which l do not recommend for serious weight loss. It is fun, but it does not really get ur heart going.) l also let myself have a cheat day once every two weeks, where l will eat basically anything l want. What is the fun in life if u can not indulge every once & a while?
Since January, I've lost 70 lbs, & at the risk of sounding like a commercial, l feel really great. Before that, it took me a long time to get in the right mindset to lose weight. I'd do it for a month, & fall off. l think losing weight is about a certain state of mind, as well. If you're not ready to lose weight, & make the sacrifices that come with it, you're obviously not going to succeed. The health benefits of losing weight r amazing, as well. My blood pressure went from being 140/90 to 117/76. My periods also regulated, which, my doctor said was from the weight loss.
Being 100 lbs overweight is serious. It can stop ovulation, it puts strain on ur joints, not to mention the increased risks of diabetes & heart disease. The first few weeks of any weight loss routine r hard, but it gets easier, & it does need to be a lifestyle change. Fad diets do not work, long term. You will lose the weight, & put it back on & feel worse than before.
You need to work on ur self esteem as well. Just because u r overweight, does not mean u r ugly. Do not rely on ur single status as any indication that u r not beautiful.
l also know what u mean about binge eating. Before l lost weight, anytime l felt emotional l went to food. l still do that, but l am sensible about my emotional eating. Mostly carrots, & vegetables. Also, always eat breakfast. It helps ur metabolism.
A big mistake l made in the beginning was weighing myself everyday. l wanted to see results so badly, & when l did not see the scale move everyday l got so discouraged that l wanted to quit. l weight myself every Sunday when l wake up, & l usually see results, which makes everything worth it.
You can also still eat fast food. Depending on the place, l will order a salad. McDonald is has some really good salads, for instance. l do not have a lot of money, either, but I've managed.
It can not just be about losing weight, it really does have to be a lifestyle change. The first few weeks r hard, but the results r so very worth it.
